In this unique Annapolitan tradition, participants toss socks into a blazing fire, symbolizing the shedding of winter layers and the anticipation of going sock-free until the next cold season. While some may not see this as the official start of boating season, it marks a special moment for those who revel in the joy of spending their days barefoot on a boat – my personal happy place!
